Mi idea en la llamada «exhibición» celebrada el pasado mes en Santander, dentro del encuentro Nudage, era dar a conocer los distintos oficios que componen la sombrerería tradicional, explicando cómo se crea un sombrero a partir de sus materiales fundamentales (paja, fieltro), y dar algunas pautas al usuario: dónde colocar un adorno, qué hacer con un sombrero pequeño, importancia del color y la textura…

Para llevarlo a cabo conté con dos modelos excepcionales Elena Outeiriño y Brianda Fitz-James Stuart, a las que les fui probando diferentes sombreros para comentar ,sobre la marcha, con el público asistente, los adornos, e iban surgiendo opiniones, consultas…

En definitiva, una perfecta mañana sombreril en la que todos aprendimos.

In the so-called “exhibition” included in the Nudage Space and held in Santander last month, my idea was to release the different crafts that compose the traditional millinery, explaining how a hat is created from its main materials (straw, felt) and giving some guidelines to the audience such as where to put an adornment, what to do with a small hat, the importance of colour and texture…

In order to carry this out, I was helped by two fabulous models, Elena Outeiriño and Brianda Fitz-James Stuart. I was trying different hats on them to make comments on the fly with the audience about the adornments. Doubts, questions and opinions quickly arose…

Definitively, a perfect ‘millinery’ morning in which we all learnt a lot.
